Buddy Valastro, known as the "Cake Boss," donated a "Cake ATM" to the University of Delaware. The machine sells five different flavors of cake slices from Carlo's Bakery in northern New Jersey, according to a Delaware Business Now report.

The vending machine also serves as a hands-on project for UD's hospitality management students, as they manage inventory, rotate stock and examine sales analytics.

The cake slices are designed to stay fresh for at least 10 days, but often sell out much sooner, according to the report. UD students are busy analyzing current sales and inventory data for the machine that will shape its operation next Spring.

Valastro attended the vending machine's ribbon-cutting ceremony at UD and has expanded his family's bakery business to 50 cake vending machines in North America, according to the report.
